Schools and Malls

This wasn’t really relevant as far as tourism goes but it was one of those nice little interludes that make a trip just that little bit special. I had just spent a lovely day with my guide Frederick at the Aburi gardens and the cocoa farm. We had one last stop before we got back to Accra. By chance we were driving through his village of Aburi and we stopped first at the rather scenic Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Emmnuel Congregation for a photo where it transpired both he and his wife were active members.

However what was really a nice experience was a visit to a school and even nicer it turned out Frederick was an IT teacher at the school and he showed me his lab with some good quality computers which had been donated by an NGO. No internet yet though.

My final activity should have been a craft market but I chose the absolutely awesome Accra mall instead. Btw the mall is close to the airport.

It was a touch of much needed pure Western decadence and the supermarket, which incidentally sells just about everything you might have been craving for, (cadbury;s chocolate all round) was geared up for Xmas even in October
