I stayed at the Green House Lodge
At least I did stay here once I had climbed over the wall which is apparently a tradition. This place absolutely oozes charm. It’s an Eco lodge, solar powered and fairly rustic. Don’t expect state of the art facilities but what you will get is a spotlessly clean room with a mosquito net. It had an almost spiritual feel to it.
The perfectly functional shower room comes complete with bucket.
I loved it!
Be advised there are not many modern conveniences like wifi and there are no electrical sockets to charge cell phones etc. However Ibrahim who lives close by does have a socket and I simply gave him my charger every night. The meals are cooked on the premises by Ibrahim’s daughter in law. It’s simple local fare but plentiful and tasty although one or two of the traditional Ghanaian meals were not quite to my liking. Definitely a required taste. The breakfast was a great start to the day.
You have the opportunity to sleep under the stars in this fabulous building.
However the best part about staying here is the owner Ibrahim.
He is not only the owner of the lodge but a farmer who would love to open a school to teach the organic way But at the moment it’s still a dream.
Tinyteddy’s feedback: “Loved it here and me and Ibrahim had a few occasions to chat. Ask him to tell you about the time he went of Holland for a farming seminar. We were intrigued. Had a hairy moment. His grandson is a lively little chap, albeit adorable, but he got me in a wrestle hold, which could have ended badly until Ibrahim stepped in and saved me.
