I stayed at Le Galion in Togo – great location
This place had a few good things going for it, with location, half a block from the beach, coming top of the list. I hadn’t made an advanced booking but that was not a problem and there are several room choices. Unfortunately things went slightly downhill after that.
I paid 29 euros for a 2 bedroom suite which was basically devoid of all character, but supposedly that was all that was available. The bathroom was tired looking and the hot water was at best tepid. The air conditioner basically just blew out air and served no other purpose other than decorative. Thank goodness for the fan. So some plus points. The staff, especially Cheche the waiter are friendly and the restaurant has an old world charm about it.
I dined on chips and a lovely cold coke.
Well sometimes that’s just what you feel like. I lucked out with a live band performance, although something with a more traditional African theme would have been more exciting, but hey no complaints.
The breakfast is not included and the very basic continental suffices.
The hotel can arrange excursions and more often than not as in my case this will be to the nearby fetish market. Coming next!
On the whole in a town where options are limited this is on the whole a pretty good choice. Heed the warning!
Looks very clean – who needs more than for breakfast!
